Upgrade the capabilities of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV/365BC system with top-quality in-depth and detailed reports that you can freely and independently create and customize, without programming knowledge in the Microsoft Dynamics environment. Provide all stakeholders in the company (sales, procurement, production, management and other decision-makers) with a reporting solution that is fast, simple, flexible and accessible.

Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI

Power BI is considered the gold standard of data visualization software and allows users to connect and upload their data from hundreds of sources, including the Dynamics 365 suite of applications. By combining Business Central with the visualization power of Power BI, businesses can gain even more insight and view a wider picture of the health of their organization. Both solutions are made by Microsoft and integrate seamlessly with just a few steps.

Why training for Microsoft Dynamics with Power BI?

You will learn how to use consume data directly from Dynamics NAV or 365 Business Central in Power Bi. On training we will focus on how to consume data both by using the standard connectors in Power Bi and creating homemade connectors using web-services and APIs and testing the difference between an on-premise solution and the cloud. Then we will clean up the datasets so we only get the relevant fields and make sure that the datatypes are correct.

At the training you will create reports in Power Bi showing the different types of visualizations to highlight the relevant information to the users. This includes:

  • Different uses of the different visualizations.
  • Calculated columns.
  • Measures.
  • Date tables.
  • Fixed datasets.
  • Comparing this period with last year.
  • Drill through filters.
  • Making reports for multiple companies.
  • Then we will go through the process of publishing the reports, making dashboards and sharing the reports and dashboard.

KEY FEATURES

This Masterclass will introduce you to the three major parts of setting up Power BI with Business Central: Publishing data from Business Central consuming them in Power BI and building models in Power BI. We will also look at basic administration in Power Bi in conjunction with the Dynamnics environment.

Knowledge is the key to independent management of advanced reports and data analysis where you do not need the help of external contractors and programmers.
